Description
Get inspired on how to incorporate sustainability, accessiblity and creativity into your class curriculum! Engage and deepen retention for students with learning differences through hands-on, tactile experiences. This is a collaborative event with KIDsmART, Spectrum Arts, and our Equipment Lending Library. There will be multiple activities available to engage with.
The Communities of Practice: Found Objects Mural lesson is hosted by head librarian, Szabi, and Journey Allen of Spectrum Arts. Sessions begin at 4:30 and 5:15, a maximum of 15 teachers can participate per session. The session is relevant to all grades, all subject levels. Szabi and Journey will introduce the concept using science curriculum and then help adapt the project for a lesson plan from your current classroom!
Mia from KIDsmART is hosting Build a Sensory Board Station. She will walk you through creating a tactile board with artcycled materials. Sensory boards are great for grounding and soothing overwhelmed students of all abilities. This activity is drop in and available from 4-6pm.
The Teacher Free-Store is hosting a Candyland-themed Art Supply Sweep! This activity will prioritize visual arts teachers. Teachers will have access to additional arts and crafts materials not regularly available in the Free-Store. Attendance does not count against your quarterly Free-Store shop. Candyland will be played in rounds, 6 players per round beginning every 15 minutes. Last round starts at 5:45p.
You only need to RSVP to one event through the link. Our staff will email you with further details closer to the date.
